THW-Mission in South Sudan completed
THW’s operations in South Sudan are completed. Since May, THW-staff from the Standing Engineering Capacity-unit (SEC) have supported the United Nations (UN) in setting up accommodation for UN-personnel in the South Sudanese capital of Juba.
The local staff are trained by THW personnel at different building sites.

The operations were financed by the Foreign Office. In an area of the UN, the members of SEC set up about 30 houses. To achieve this, THW used material which had been produced locally. Thus, the local economy could be strengthened. In the framework of the programme “Training on the Job“, THW trained local staff and transferred knowledge to the young state.
