Chinese guests visit THW
In October a delegation from the China National School of Administration (CNSA) met THW representatives during its three-day visit to Germany. THW Vice President Rainer Schwierczinski welcomed Hong Yi, the Vice President of the CNSA who ranks as a Vice Minister, and his delegation in Bonn, where they took part in an exchange of ideas.

During talks at the THW National Training Center in Neuhausen, the CNSA and THW agreed to work together more closely in the fields of emergency planning, crisis management and civil protection; a joint project in these areas is already being prepared. During the course of its stay in Germany, the Chinese delegation also met representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH.
Guests from China were also being hosted by THW local section Bremerhaven last weekend. 25 Chinese youth were visiting the German federal state of Bremen and included a trip to the THW to learn about youth work there and civil protection in general. Members of the THW youth group gave a practical demonstration of how casualties could be rescued from two vehicles after a collision. This Chinese group was part of a larger group of 400 young people who had been invited to Germany by Chancellor Angela Merkel.
